Summer in the 70's would not have been the same without "I'll Be Good To You", "Get The Funk Out Of My Face" and "Strawberry Letter #23"...man the sounds those brothers came up with to go with the titles Quincy would throw at them. When it came to "Stomp", George thought it was a good title, but inspiration escaped him when it came to actually writing the words and music. In a marathon overnight writing session, notes were furiously written, then just as furiously crumpled up and thrown in the wastebasket. Soon, a return to the wastebasket to pull out some of the discarded music resulted in the #1 R&B and Disco/Dance chart hit "Stomp!" After the song was completed, instead of heading off to bed, he booked studio time with Quincy that afternoon, sang it once and called it a day. This is funky disco, another one where the album version was the extended version....it was a hit in the spring of 1980 and I was kinda feeling this one could use a slight makeover...and I'm glad I did this one!
I was 18 and remember this like it was yesterday.

Brothers Johnson put it down in the late 70's and early 80's, Stomp and Strawberry Letter 23, where my favorites and the thumping bass just can't be duplicated in todays music. These guys are legends!

IF MOZART HAD A BAND IN THE 1970'S AND 80'S AND 90'S,LOUIS JOHNSON WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY BEEN HIS BASS PLAYER

I am dancing alone in my quarantine bedroom!!!! I found ways to keep my mental health in check, one of which is turning my bedroom into a makeshift dancefloor. I envision myself in a "disco nightclub". I just love the beat of this song! AWESOME!!!!!! 🎵🎶🎵💃💃💃🆒🆒🆒
